Join the Lab
Undergraduate Students
We almost always have opportunities for motivated undergraduates to join the lab. Options for research include volunteering, BIOL 4905 course credit, and senior thesis projects. If interested, email Dr. Miller to discuss your interests and current opportunities in the lab. Students interested in careers in ecology, evolution, animal behavior or conservation biology are especially encouraged to apply.
Graduate Students
The UMSL Biology Department offers both MS and PhD degrees. Applications for the PhD program are due in December while MS students are admitted on a rolling basis. The Miller lab is associated with the Whitney R. Harris World Ecology Center, which offers fellowships and research grants for UMSL students. The Miller lab is not accepting PhD applications in 2024-2025, but may consider applications from talented students interested in MS degrees. If you are interested in joining the lab, please email Dr. Miller with a CV and brief statement of your research interests prior to applying.
High School Students
Currently we are only able to host high school summer research interns through the C.L.I.M.B. program. See webpage for more info.
Postdoctoral Fellows
There are currently no funded positions available for postdocs in the lab. However, we are always interested in supporting applications for independent fellowship like the NSF-PRFB or through the Living Earth Collaborative.
